In response to school closings caused by the Covid-19 crisis, Springboard Writing Lab's creative writing resources will be available soon via Google Classroom and YouTube. Check back here for updates.
Springboard Writing Lab is a creative writing resource and workshop program founded by Matt Russell and operated in partnership with Read for Literacy. During in-class and after school workshops, students engage in writing activities that not only enhance their abilities as storytellers and poets, but also develop a mindset for problem solving, effective communication, and empathy. All workshops are facilitated by professionals in the writing arts.
In addition, Springboard publishes an annual literary journal comprised of short stories, creative nonfiction, and poetry, all written by Toledo area students, grades 6-12. The journal is published each May in coordination with the Claire's Day Children's Book Festival, a signature service of Read for Literacy.
